In Seeing Forest, l’artista Robert Zhao Renhui offre un’evocativa esplorazione delle foreste secondarie, aree boschive ricresciute su terreni già compromessi dallo sviluppo umano, divenute poi soglia tra foreste primarie indisturbate e ambienti urbani avanzati.
Radicata in diversi anni di osservazioni accumulate nelle foreste secondarie di Singapore, la mostra ne esplora la vita multiforme e i molteplici mondi al loro interno, che contengono storie d’insediamenti nel paesaggio, di colonizzazione e migrazione, e coesistenza tra le specie.
Con un assemblaggio d’installazioni video e sculture, Seeing Forest esplora le storie meno osservate e i momenti di chiara interdipendenza tra la società umana e la natura.
Seeing Forest mostra questi spazi di transizione come punti d’intersezione per la storia, la scoperta e la sostenibilità, suggerendo al contempo che i confini di una città – soprattutto se pianificati con molta attenzione – siano oggi le frontiere di massima intensità.

In Seeing Forest, artist Robert Zhao Renhui offers an evocative exploration of secondary forests, woodlands regrown on land already compromised by human development, which have become the threshold between undisturbed primary forests and advanced urban environments.
Rooted by years of accumulated observations of Singapore's secondary forests, the exhibition explores their multifaceted life and the multiple worlds within them, which contain histories of landscape settlement, colonization and migration, and coexistence between species.
Through an assemblage of video installations and sculptures, Seeing Forest explores the lesser-observed histories and moments of clear interdependence between human society and nature.
Seeing Forest presents these transitional spaces as points of intersection for history, discovery, and sustainability, while also suggesting that the edges of a city—especially when carefully planned—are today's most intense frontiers.
